When using wireless sensors, we need to pay attention to factors such as communication range, radio interference, and battery life.
There are some important considerations when using wireless detectors that are different from the wired detector. First, since they are battery-powered, their detection and communication functions degrade as the battery runs low. Therefore, it is essential to plan for and regularly replace the batteries. Additionally, the communication environment can subtly and unpredictably change due to factors such as metal obstructions, interference from other similar radio frequencies, and weather conditions like rain and snow. Even if thorough communication testing is performed during installation, the detector’s signal may not reach the controller due to these constantly changing environmental conditions. Furthermore, intruders could disable the security system by removing the wireless detectors during an unmonitored period. While wireless sensors may be easy to install, maintaining a reliable wireless communication environment can be challenging.
