If you are introducing a monitoring system for the first time…
Many nursing care facilities are considering “monitoring systems” for residents as they can reduce the workload of caregivers. Meanwhile, there are many different types of “monitoring systems” on the market, each with a different purpose: for example, systems that measure vital information such as the resident’s breathing and pulse, systems that monitor sleeping status and activity, and systems that prevent accidents such as falls from bed. Furthermore, when you consider the technology to be used to realize the solution and the back-end systems for operation, evaluation, and record, choosing the system to be used becomes a very difficult question. If you are introducing a monitoring system for the first time, why not consider the following points when selecting a system?
- Systems that measure biometric information are similar to medical devices, so there are hesitations when considering the responsibility for operation and maintenance.
- Systems that continuously monitor, record, and evaluate the patients using a computer or external cloud network may be expensive to install and operate (specialized knowledge is required for evaluation during monitoring).
- For the first time, the one with low risk may be a kind of safety system that is specialized for a specific purpose, warns me of any danger, and is easy to operate and install.
For those who agree with my opinion, I recommend our sensor solution “Watch Over Sensor” that prevents falls and trips from bed.
